Mizz Phine, also known as Susan G., is a Mississippi native, children’s author, former elementary educator, former Head Start Center Administrator, and retired healthcare professional. Writing under the pen name Mizz Phine, she creates uplifting stories that remind children they are safe, smart, important, and full of possibility.

Her lifelong work has centered on caring for, teaching, and encouraging children. Through her years in education and healthcare, especially while working with young patients facing serious health challenges, she saw the powerful role that love, stability, laughter, learning, and books can play in a child’s life.

The My Magical Mind children’s series was created in honor of her quiet and thoughtful nephew, Xiyon. Through imagination, discovery, and positive storytelling, Mizz Phine hopes to inspire children to dream boldly, explore new ideas, believe in themselves, and understand that their minds can take them anywhere.
